Through ILI-SACE, our new South African Centre, in the heart of Sandton, (Johannesburg’s financial district and Africa’s leading commercial hub), business executives, lawyers government officials, and others) will have access to a suite of programmes, including practical immersion in the actual workings of leading private and public entities worldwide. Comprehensive, carefully designed, dedicated courses will be offered in classroom settings and on-line, delivered by leading experts from around the globe. Special study tours in Asia and the United States will provide opportunities for learning from leading practitioners in other countries and for comparing experiences and developing professional networks.

Georgetown University Law Center, one of the leading centers of legal education in the United States and the world, as noted earlier, is partnering with the newly established ILI-SACE to offer short executive education programs.

In South Africa, the University of Pretoria, and the University of the Free State are also partnering with ILI-SACE to offer short Executive Education programs; joint degree programs will soon be announced.

South Africa provides a unique setting for the Institute’s Africa work. Since 1994 South Africa has assumed a de facto leadership role in Africa as the most industrialized and diversified economy on the African continent. It is a member of BRICS (an association of five major emerging national economies) and is one of eight upper- middle income economies in Africa.
