ILI-SACE recently, successfully completed its’ first face-to-face programme in Legislative Drafting. This Certificate and Diploma programme also included online attendance. The programme was hosted at the ILI-SACE offices in Sandton. The four-week (Certificate) and nine-week (Diploma) programme attracted participants from the following institutions; the Kenya Law Reform Commission, Capital Markets Authority of Kenya, Malawi Law Reform Commission, Office of the Attorney General and Ministry of Justice Ghana, Central Bank of the Gambia, Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs of Uganda and Botswana Unified Revenue Services.

This programme was facilitated by expert faculty members from the United States, Zambia and South Africa, representing: The United States General Services Administration, Chief Parliamentary Drafting office of Zambia, office of the Director of Fiscal and Intergovernmental Legislation at the South African National Treasury and the University of Pretoria. Coverage included constitutionalism, legislative syntax, design thinking and law reform and amendments. The training was highly valued by the participants who all rated the faculty as “excellent” and the overall programme highly.
